In 1951, Erich Klessmann in Gutersion, Germany started IMA to offer innovative finishing solutions for woodworking manufacturers. Both companies independently grew reputations for reliability and innovation in the international industrial woodworking sphere.
One Group, One Goal
Due to the collaborative nature of IMA and Schelling products and the companiesā united business values, IMA and Schelling began exhibiting together at the LIGNA tradeshow in Hannover, Germany. In 2016, the partner firms merged to form the privately owned and operated IMA Schelling Group, strengthening their years-long cooperation. Today, our partnership provides comprehensive machinery, engineering, and service for single-line and full production manufacturing in the woodworking, board, plastics, and metals markets.
